Human

Humans, also known on several worlds including Prin, Gapachon and Bourzon as scurvoids, are non-magical animals that are said to have evolved in an unknown location several billion years ago and, for reasons not fully understood, have for the most part preserved the same fundamental bag of genetic traits, including the inability to internally synthesise ascorbic acid, leading to scurvy (named after their goddess, Scurvous). Humans that sufficiently, through magical means or otherwise, depart from this form are known by other names, such as werecreatures.

Many creatures, such as elves and dwarves were given forms similar to humans upon their creation. Such beings are known as humanoids. It is thought, however, that these creatures often predate the evolution of humans, so it is theorized that in fact the opposite is true, and that the human is simply a general watering-down of the traits of other humanoids, evolving independently as a result of the influence of various goddesses on the nature of the Prime Material Plane. An alternative theory is that humanoids did indeed derive from humans in design, but then travelled far back to the past.
